While waiting, the Nigerian Navy vessel Gongola approached the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fleetmon.com\/vessels\/heroic-idun_9858058_8929034\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HEROIC IDUN<\/a>. Mistaking the Gongola for a pirate vessel, the master of the vessel sent the crew to the citadel and heeded the advice of the war risk insurers and managers, sending the ship 250 miles offshore and reporting the event to the IMB.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortumately this act of effectiveness &amp; readiness was termed as unlawful and vessel crew had to undergo such a traumatic experience for 9 months.<\/p>\n<p>But things took a U-turn &amp; Seafarers got their due recently after authorities and various institutions came forward to help the seafarers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The series of unfortunate events started on August 8th when the 300,000 dwt tanker arrived at the CNOOC-operated Akpo offshore FPSO.
